No trip to Busan is complete without a visit to the awesome area of Haeundae.
Haeundae is the place people moving to Busan dream about living. I must admit, I was a little disappointed when I moved to Korea to find out that I wasn't living in Haeundae, or anywhere near it! We were on the complete opposite end of the city, about an hour away from Haeundae by subway. The big appeal of Haeundae is that it has possibly the most famous beach in Korea, which is so packed with sun umbrellas in the summer that you can't even see the sand. No matter what season, Haeundae Beach is always a cool place to hang out. Walking around here, you get that chill "beach town" vibe!
Near the beach on Dongbaek Island, we also visited Nurimaru APEC House. The round building looks kind of like a flying saucer from the outside. They held an APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) conference here in 2005, where leaders of many countries including Canada and the USA attended. This place is like the conference frozen in time. They have gifts given to the leaders on display, in addition to Korean clothing that the leaders of the conference wore for a photo. They even have little models of the meal served at the conference. Kimchi, of course, was on the menu! Regardless of the strangeness of APEC House, it has great views of the Gwangan Bridge and an awesome walking path around it which leads to beautiful views of Haeundae Beach. It's a peaceful area and one of my faves in Busan.

So very glad that you had a great time revisiting places that you love so much! Kimchi definirely looks good but I think it is probably an acquired taste for many!
